The Story Bridge Adventure Climb is a unique and fun experience providing a completely new way of seeing your own home town from a vantage point 80 metres above the river. Take on a new challenge which stimulates the senses and yet provides time to bond and enhance relationships with your fellow team members along the way. Learn things about your city that you never knew before – did you know the bridge had three other names during the construction phase before finally becoming the Story Bridge? Exclusive group climbs can be arranged and special deals are available – more details can be obtained from the group specialists in Reservations. Climbers depart in groups of twelve (12) and a 20 minute interval is required between departures. Alternatively, individuals can join pre-scheduled climbs at dawn, daylight, twilight and at night. The climb is a 2˝ hour safe, soft adventure experience which includes the briefing, safety demonstration and the climb route. Should schedules be tight, exclusive group express climbs of shorter duration can be arranged. Climb and dine packages are also a popular choice for groups wishing to enjoy pre or post dining, whether in the park, a local restaurant or the nearby iconic Story Bridge Hotel. Group or individual photographs taken by the Group Climb Leader on the bridge are available for purchase from the SBAC Gift Shop and all participants will receive an official climb certificate as a memento. A comprehensive range of Story Bridge Adventure Climb merchandise is also available and includes quality clothing and gift items. If required, these can be personalised with corporate logos and/or group name branding at additional cost. A 11 seater mini coach can be provided by prior arrangement for transfers from one local CBD collection point. The climb is ideal for all ages (from 10 years onwards) and can be considered as a year-round activity in Brisbane’s attractive sub-tropical climate. For safety reasons, a person cannot participate in the Climb if their blood alcohol concentration is 0.05% or greater or they are under the influence of prescription or illicit drugs. In order to avoid any embarrassment, group organisers are requested to ensure that all climbers are supplied with advance information regarding requirements for footwear and clothing and are aware of the alcohol/drug restrictions. The climb is completely safe and secure. Each climber wears a belt harness which is attached to a continuous safety cable via a lanyard for the entire duration of the climb.
