The Story Bridge Adventure Climb is a safe soft adventure experience and offers a stimulating conference activity whether for groups, individual delegates or accompanying partners.
For conference social programmes, it can be considered as a stand-alone activity or perhaps a climb and dine combination for groups wishing to enjoy pre or post dining, whether in the park, a local restaurant or the nearby iconic Brisbane landmark, the Story Bridge Hotel.
Being so centrally located in the Brisbane City CBD, it can provide the perfect mid-programme break activity, designed to re-focus and invigorate delegates. The history and heritage of both the city and bridge, including fascinating construction facts and figures are integrated into the commentary and will come alive during the bridge climb.
Exclusive group climbs can be arranged and special deals are also available – information on these can be obtained from the group specialists in Reservations.
Alternatively, individuals can join pre-scheduled climbs at dawn, daylight, twilight and at night. A special SBAC code can be allocated to your conference and advised in the conference registration brochure to enable tracking of any individual bookings made direct.
The climb is a 2½ hour experience which includes the briefing, safety demonstration and the climb itself. Should schedules be tight, exclusive group express climbs of shorter duration can be arranged. Climbers depart in groups of twelve (12) and a 20 minute interval is required between departures.
The climb is ideal for all ages (from 10 years onwards) and can be considered as a year-round activity in Brisbane’s attractive sub-tropical climate.
Group or individual photographs taken by the Group Climb Leader on the bridge are available for purchase from the SBAC Gift Shop and all participants will receive an official climb certificate as a memento. A comprehensive range of Story Bridge Adventure Climb merchandise is also available and includes quality clothing and gift items. If required, these can be personalised with corporate logos and/or conference theme branding at additional cost.
For safety reasons, a person cannot participate in the Climb if their blood alcohol concentration is 0.05% or greater or they are under the influence of prescription or illicit drugs. In order to avoid any embarrassment, group organisers are requested to ensure that all climbers are supplied with advance information regarding requirements for footwear and clothing and are aware of the alcohol/drug restrictions.
